How To Get Here: The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is located at 7420 Fourth Avenue (between Bay Ridge Parkway/75th Street and 74th Street), Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and is easily accessible by public transportation. TRAINS: Bay Ridge is serviced by the R Train which runs under Fourth Avenue. The stop closest to the church is 77th Street. Walk north to Bay Ridge Parkway (75th Street). As you exit the subway and look left 1 block north towards Bay Ridge Parkway, you will see the large gray church building on the corner. BUSES: There are three bus lines that stop within close proximity of the Church: B4 - which travels along Bay Ridge Parkway (75th Street) and stops at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Bay Ridge Parkway. Cross Bay Ridge Parkway. B70 - which travels along Third Avenue and stops at Third Avenue and Bay Ridge Parkway. Walk east one block to Fourth Avenue. B63 - which travels along Fifth Avenue and stops at Fifth Avenue and Bay Ridge Parkway. Walk west one block to Fourth Avenue. |
Accessibility:
Good Shepherd is fully accessible. A state-of-the-art, user-friendly lift -- on the right hand side at the front of the church, behind the extension wall -- can take you from street level to the Soul Cafe. Just open the lift door (be sure the lift is level with the ground), and hold the button (1 to go down, and 2 to go up) until you reach your floor. (Note, the door will not open until the lift is level with the ground.)
Additionally, a ramp inside the church connects the Soul Cafe to the Sanctuary. There is also a street level exit to the right of the alter at the back of the Sanctuary.
In the adjacent building -- the location of the church offices -- a transport lift can take you from the ground floor to the second floor Parlor Room, which is also a venue for numerous events.

Our Campus:
The main church building has 2 entrances (red doors). The one on the left leads to the Sanctuary, and the one on the right leads to the adjacent room we call the 'Soul Cafe'. Most events take place in the Soul Cafe (which can be entered through the right hand red doors), and also via the accessibility lift. Some weekly events take place in the 'Church Offices' site - an area to the right of the main church building. The entrance can be found at the end of the short pathway and under the 'cloister like' arches. The 'Conference (Muller) Room' is on ground level to the left; For the 'Parlor Room' turn right towards the stairs on the left. Parlor Room is on the second floor at the end of the hallway. A stair lift is also operational from the ground level to second floor. For further directions please call the offices during office hours and we will be happy to assist you. |
