Sundays
We are transitioning from SOCIAL DISTANCING to SOCIAL SOLIDARITY. We have an active food pantry through the week. Your family can pick up a week's worth of produce and basic nonperishable foods. If you have other needs (Pampers e.g.), let us know. If you are infected and need to speak with any of us or need warmed food, contact us about our drop-off service. We deliver fresh produce and/or warmed meals. During the crisis, we are limiting all gatherings and face-to-face meetings and only gradually opening up for face-to-face activities. It is a moral imperative to care for each other and thus we need to follow the health protocols. We have an online (Zoom) service or you can call in on Sunday to worship with us at 10:45 a.m. We also have a Spanish virtual worship service at 1:30 p.m. every Sunday. Services are followed by online community time. If you need to contact me for more information or emergencies, do call me at 347-369-1959 or e-mail me at: [email protected] Thank you. Rev. Juan Carlos Ruiz
Saturdays
Every Saturday morning our sewing and construction cooperatives meet for training and projects. (These are currently full, but for information about them and to make donations of money or supplies, please contact Rev. Juan Carlos. You can also suggest ideas for projects.) On Saturday afternoons at 3 p.m. we have at last started having in-person community gatherings for music, gardening, community care, acupuncture, sound bath therapy and other activities.
Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering or donating to any of these activities.
Wednesdays
Prayer Shawl/Blanket Group 10:00 a.m. Muller Room, Education Building Enjoy Knitting? Join the Prayer shawl/blanket group at Good Shepherd Church. We meet every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Muller Meeting Room. The blankets and shawls we make are lovingly made with the hope that the recipients can wrap them around themselves when they are in need of comfort. We offer free instruction for beginners, and experts and all levels are welcome! Feel free to call today if you’d like a prayer shawl or lap blanket for any person who you think would be comforted to know that we are sending prayers their way for whatever is occurring in their lives. The intent is not only for those who may be ill, but for various other occasions where the gifts of prayer and love would be appreciated. Call the church office at 718-745-8520 for more information.
